Manchester City striker Erling Haaland declared that "the result is the only thing that matters" after the Sky Blues secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Burnley in the Premier League. The team climbed to the top of the standings, level on points with Arsenal but with more goals scored than the Londoners. The Norwegian himself netted the sole goal, despite City unleashing 28 shots, nine of which were on target.

"We had many chances, but I'm happy we won, and that's the most important thing. It's all about winning, no matter how. We try to play our football and just try to win. That's what we need in our mindset. Don't think about goals, just think about winning. I'm super happy, we won, we got three points, and as the fans sing: we are at the top of the league. So let's be happy," Haaland stated after the match.

City and Arsenal both sit on 70 points from 33 matches with an identical goal difference of plus 37, with only five games remaining in the season. Manchester City leads the pack, having scored three more goals than the Gunners. Pep Guardiola's side's next fixture is against Southampton in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday. On May 4th, City will face Everton in a Premier League clash.
