Haaland Officially a Peruvian? National Registry Reveals Bizarre Details Amusing the World
Norway is set to make history on Saturday at 11:00 PM CEST in Miami, playing their first-ever World Cup quarter-final match against England. Haaland has already netted seven goals in the tournament, and another standout performance could resonate far beyond the football pitch.
The Peruvian national registry, Reniec, revealed on social media that 468 Peruvians share the surname Haaland, 91 individuals are named Erling Haaland, and four bear the full name of the Manchester City striker, Erling Braut Haaland.
“Haaland is also Peruvian,” the registry stated in a post, according to DPA, which included an AI-generated image depicting Haaland in a traditional Peruvian hat, holding a plush llama. Peru did not qualify for the World Cup.
