In recent weeks, over 500 children in Peru have been named Haaland, according to Peruvian media outlet RPP. Specifically, RENIEC, the national civil registration service, announced in a press release that several variations of the Norwegian star's name are now in circulation.

“Four children have been given the full name Erling Braut Haaland. Ninety-one were named Erling Haaland. Four hundred and sixty-eight received the name Haaland,” the statement read.

This brings the total number of newborns named after the striker to 563. The press release was also accompanied by an AI-generated image of the Norwegian star.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, Haaland and Norway are set to face England tonight – the country where Erling was born and currently plays. A few days ago, at a press conference, the City star stated that all the pressure was on the English side and that his team had already come far enough. However, Thomas Tuchel didn't take kindly to these remarks: “I'm surprised Erling said that, because I've always thought he loves pressure and performs best under it. I'm surprised he's shifting it onto us. I don't think for a minute about who the favorite is or where the pressure lies. I know very well that internally they are preparing to win the match. Why shouldn't they? For us, nothing changes.”

The outcome of tonight's match is unlikely to change the global perception of Haaland. For weeks, his jerseys have been virtually impossible to find in Norway. While some might still be available in Oslo and online, they're scarce in other cities. So, what are fans doing? Simple: tourists and Norwegians are buying Manchester City jerseys. The question is, will they be wearing them tonight?
