The annual Gidi Fest 2017 held at the splendour of the Eko Atlantic, Bar beach front on Saturday night, April 15, 2017.
The festival which had kicked off in the early hours of the day at 12pm, which had games and other fun activities set the tone for the music concert that was to follow on the night.
A rich lineup of acts, local and foreign were expected to come out and give fans a show.
Hypeman Jimmie and Folu Storms were official hosts for the evening, while Mavins' DJ Altims, DJ Obi and DJ Neptune provided the music.
Female twin duo El'Vee came and performed, bringing in the energy to warm up the crowd for more exciting performances to come.
Hip Hop Soul reggae international act Nneka, armed with her voice and her guitar was refreshing with her inimitable performance on stage, earning resounding applause from the audience at every round of her performance session ending.
Alternative Soul fusion singer Falana comes through with her aura of distinctive stage persona, making beautiful sounds with her signature Cajón.
90s baby, a new rising music group also came and did their thing.
The lovable Simi followed up, performing her popular songs 'Ole', 'Soldier', and 'Mo so rire' a song off her feature in Legendury Beatz's "Afropop 101" mixtape.
Her performance was however disrupted when the sound on her mic went off, owing to the rain. Simi went to improvise dancing before exiting the stage later.
There was interruption of stage performances for quite a while with the stage performances.
Much later, Wale Turner, Reekado Banks, Pryse, Dremo, BOJ with SDC and Poe, Niniola, Fresh L of DRB Lasgidi, Mayorkun, Ckay, Seyi Shay all gave their fair quota of performances.
The more anticipated acts Davido and Burna Boy also turned up.
Burna thrilled the crowd with his sheer energy and range of crowd favourite songs, and was later joined on stage in surprising welcome fashion by Skales where the pair got to perform 'Cool temper' remix, and oh my was it a brilliant performance.
Davido came through singing 'Dami duro', fireworks blazing all over the stage. The OBOÂ performed his classics and his reigning song 'IF' to the joy of the fans.
Then American producer and DJ Diplo of Major Lazer drove the crowd wild with his mixes and was joined by group member WalshyFire, both acts giving major respect and shout out to Nigerian music with their mixes.
A Major Lazer remix of Mr Eazi's 'Leg over', Tekno's 'Pana' among others was presented to the audience, which was awfully impressive.
The duo sure left the crowd on a major high of music adrenaline.
Kenyan group Sauti Sol and Tanzania's Vanessa Mdee also made appearances on Diplo's set, but were unable to perform individually due to organisers not granting them a live band.
Though the rains threatened and interrupted major sets of the show, Lagosians defied it to party with Burna Boy, Davido, Diplo and others.
The 2017 edition of Gidi Fest will be one not to forget in a hurry.
