Germans Reveal Details of Jürgen Klopp's Contract: He'll Earn More Than His Predecessor with the National Team
Following Germany's World Cup debacle and Nagelsmann's resignation, various rumors and speculations began to circulate. However, the name of his potential successor emerged almost immediately. Jürgen Klopp is reportedly set to steer the national team back on track, with alleged negotiations already underway with representatives from the German Football Association (DFB).
The iconic coach and global head of football at Red Bull is expected to sign a four-year contract, which would also cover the 2030 World Cup. According to available information, he will receive an annual salary exceeding 7 million euros, only slightly more than his predecessor.
Germany to Save Millions
Initially, it was believed that Germany would have to pay a transfer fee for a coach for the first time in history to release Klopp from his commitments at Red Bull. However, according to information from Bild, this will not be the case. As his marketing value is more precious to the conglomerate than a few million euros, the 59-year-old expert will continue to serve as an advertising ambassador for the company.
Finalizing the agreement with the DFB will still take some time. Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff is also flying to the USA this week to participate in negotiations. However, the contract signing is not expected to happen there; it will likely occur after all involved parties return to their home countries.
In Klopp's case, this will be after the World Cup final at the earliest, as he is currently working as an expert for MagentaTV in America. His first public appearance as national team coach is anticipated on August 22nd in the Supercup match, where runner-up Borussia Dortmund will face double-winners Bayern Munich at his former stomping ground in Dortmund.
