This remarkable feat places him among an elite group, becoming only the 29th driver in Formula 1 history to achieve a Grand Slam. Interestingly, this marks the second consecutive year a driver has accomplished a Grand Slam in Azerbaijan, following Max Verstappen's sixth such weekend just 12 months prior.

Earlier this year, Russell's Mercedes teammate and current championship leader, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, also claimed his maiden Grand Slam at the Monaco Grand Prix. Beyond the Mercedes drivers and Verstappen, other current Formula 1 competitors with Grand Slams include Lewis Hamilton (6), Fernando Alonso (1), Charles Leclerc (1), and Oscar Piastri (1).

Historically, the legendary Jim Clark holds the record with eight Grand Slams. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are tied for second with six each. Michael Schumacher and Alberto Ascari both have five, while Jackie Stewart, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, and Sebastian Vettel each boast four. Nelson Piquet has three, and other drivers with more than one include Juan Manuel Fangio, Jack Brabham, Mika Häkkinen, and Nico Rosberg, all with two.
