Alpine Academy driver Gabriele Minì is set for another run in a Formula 1 car. The team has confirmed that the Italian driver will step in for regular starter Pierre Gasly during the opening practice session in São Paulo.
Minì made his official Grand Prix weekend debut in Mexico City, getting behind the wheel of Franco Colapinto's A525 for the Argentine's second mandatory rookie FP1 session of the season.
With Gasly still needing to vacate his seat for one required rookie session, the Frenchman will sit out the first 60 minutes of running at Interlagos.
Minì is one of four young drivers officially announced for Friday practice. The other confirmed participants include Freddie Slater in place of Nico Hülkenberg at Audi, Leonardo Fornaroli taking over Oscar Piastri's McLaren, and Luke Browning stepping in for Carlos Sainz at Williams.
Colton Herta is also expected to feature in Free Practice 1 behind the wheel of the Cadillac to fulfill the final requirements for his Super Licence.
