Fans of France and Morocco in Paris jointly celebrated "Les Bleus'" 2-0 victory in the World Cup quarter-finals. After the match, supporters from both teams took to the streets of the French capital with their national flags. Despite predictions of widespread unrest, the evening passed without serious incidents, unfolding instead in a festive atmosphere.

Immediately after the final whistle, the city streets echoed with car horns and motorcycle revs. The Champs-Élysées began to fill with flag-waving supporters, many displaying the colors of Morocco's "Atlas Lions." However, a significant number of these fans were, in effect, torn between allegiances, supporting both teams, as they were born in France but of Moroccan descent.

One young man even wore a Morocco jersey with a France scarf, underscoring the idea that most attendees at the impromptu celebration were there for enjoyment, not confrontation.

Thursday evening's atmosphere sharply contrasted with that of four years prior, when the two teams also met at the World Cup in Qatar. On that occasion, French authorities deployed 20,000 law enforcement officers to maintain order in cities. Police had received intelligence suggesting Moroccans were planning disturbances, with far-right nationalists and ultra-fans ready to retaliate.

The situation was less calm in London, where football fans clashed with police after the match. At least one officer was reported injured, and several arrests were made amidst disturbances involving unruly Moroccan fans in various parts of the city.
