Anadolu Efes pulled off a major upset in Round 9 of the EuroLeague, overpowering Panathinaikos 83-68 on home court.

Following a crushing 118-88 defeat to Hapoel, Efes produced an emphatic response, powered by former Partizan standouts Cameron Payne and Bruno Fernando to take down Zeljko Obradovic's side, who had suffered just one defeat in their opening eight rounds.

The Istanbul outfit controlled the contest virtually wire-to-wire, opening up double-digit leads on several occasions. Although the Greens threatened a late comeback, Pablo Laso's men held firm, putting the Athenians away with a decisive flurry from beyond the arc.
