Former NBA center Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from the arena during a WNBA game between Indiana and Chicago after a heated verbal altercation with player Natasha Cloud near the end of the third quarter.

Kanter watched the game courtside from the front row, but his black t-shirt, emblazoned with the phrase: “Woman. Noun. Adult Human Female,” immediately drew attention. These details directly referenced the heated public debates in America regarding whether transgender athletes should be permitted to compete in women's sports.

"Others have added 'biological woman,' but the WNBA is still adrift."

The incident escalated near the end of the third quarter. After scoring for Chicago, Natasha Cloud turned towards the front row, spotted Kanter, and advanced directly towards him, shouting and pointing. Kanter rose from his seat and, with arms outstretched, began to move onto the court, but security personnel and other players quickly intervened, stepping between them.

The Turkish former player was escorted out of the arena by security. As he exited, he stretched his t-shirt to make the inscription as visible as possible to the crowd. Before leaving the venue, he also had a brief conversation with the police.

"Other major sports have clearly closed that loophole. They've explicitly added phrases like 'biological woman' or 'born female' to their collective bargaining agreements. But when I look at them, the WNBA, they have no mention of biological sex or anything similar. The WNBA has no idea what they're about to face! They're still trying to figure out what a woman even is. Well, let's see if they manage to figure it out. Let's see what rules they ultimately come up with," Kanter concluded.

After the game, Chicago Sky coach Tyler Marsh sharply condemned the former NBA player's behavior and defended Natasha Cloud...

"If you come to a game, you should come to enjoy basketball. These players deserve that. As a former basketball player, you should understand that," Marsh stated.

The scandal occurred at a time when American sports are embroiled in fierce debates over participation rules in women's leagues. Kanter is already known for his strong opinions on this topic. Recently, alongside former NBA player Royce White, he ironically announced their intention to declare for the WNBA draft, claiming they "identify as women," protesting the league's rules which do not strictly define biological sex at birth.
