Former Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has weighed in on the recent verdict against Manchester City, who were found guilty on 114 of 115 charges related to breaches of the Premier League's financial rules. The Scottish international, who spent nine years at Anfield and battled Pep Guardiola's side for numerous titles, shared his thoughts.

“I think you can hear the shock in my voice, I haven't actually seen the news yet. The case has obviously been ongoing for some time. For me, the Manchester City players have shown they are good enough on the pitch. I don't know much about the accusations and such, but they had an incredible team that I loved competing against. I don't think in such situations the players are ever to blame. That's all I can focus on,” Robertson stated.

His comments come amidst discussions about whether potential sanctions against City could impact the trophies the club has won. Robertson clearly distinguished between the actions of the club's management and the performance of the players, emphasizing that, in his opinion, the players have proven their quality on the field. Manchester City, for their part, deny the allegations and are expected to appeal the decision.
