Football body threatens Sierra Leone with a ban

FIFA reportedly gave authorities in Freetown until Wednesday, December 16, 2015 to comply with the directive or risk being banned from all international competition.

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association, FIFA, is threatening to impose a ban on Sierra Leone if the country's government goes ahead to disband the Football Association.

According to a report by Channels Television, the world’s football governing body demanded that the Sierra Leone Government rescind its decision with an ultimatum of five days.

FIFA's threat is coming after the National Sports Council (NSC) announced the dissolution of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Executive Committee on Thursday.
