FIBA Europe President Bids Farewell to Vujošević: "He Was One of the Coaches Who Made Basketball Great!"
Garbahosa offered heartfelt praise for the man who became a symbol of an era and the architect of Partizan's success, highlighting his immeasurable contribution to the global development of basketball.
"With all due respect to his career, I want to extend my support to his family. He was one of those coaches who made our sport great worldwide, and I can only say that I am sorry for what happened and offer my condolences to his family and friends." - Jorge Garbahosa
Vujošević's passing represents a tremendous loss for the sport, and the reaction from the President of FIBA Europe only underscores the authority and respect he commanded far beyond the Balkans.
Vujošević, as a reminder, passed away at the age of 68 following a sudden deterioration of his health. The legendary coach had been battling significant heart and lung issues since undergoing a kidney transplant last year in March.
Ostoja Mijailović revealed in a statement to "Euronews" that the legendary Partizan coach will be laid to rest in the Alley of Distinguished Citizens at the New Cemetery.
According to the black-and-whites' top executive, a commemoration will first be held on April 14th at 10 AM in the Belgrade City Assembly. The funeral service will take place on the same day at 1 PM in the Church of Saint Nicholas at the New Cemetery.
