The 35-year-old had emerged as a top target for the Turkish side in recent weeks. Several other clubs also expressed interest in landing him, but Fenerbahce appear to have won the race for his signature.

Powell recently entered free agency after missing out on final NBA regular-season rosters in October. That opened the door to a new chapter in his career, with a move to Fenerbahce representing a crucial reinforcement for the Turkish club's frontcourt.

The Canadian international brings 13 seasons of NBA experience to the table, having spent more than a decade with the Dallas Mavericks. During his tenure, he established himself as a valuable rotation piece, renowned for his energy, physical presence, tenacity, and defensive discipline.

Among his standout attributes are his efficient finishing around the rim, smart off-ball movement, and strong pick-and-roll execution. Powell is also widely recognized for his professionalism and willingness to embrace any role for the team's benefit.

The seasoned center also boasts significant NBA playoff pedigree, having been part of the Dallas squad that reached the 2024 NBA Finals. One of his career milestones came in the 2021–22 campaign, when he featured in all 100 of the Mavericks' regular-season and playoff games combined.
