FC Porto Holds Firm on Rodrigo Mora: Roma Must Meet SAD's Demands

Talks continue, with another day of intense negotiations expected. One thing is certain: the Dragons will only greenlight the transfer if the Italian club aligns with Porto's vision regarding the purchase option/clause. Otherwise, the deal could collapse.

FC Porto and Roma moved closer to an agreement on Tuesday night regarding the transfer of Rodrigo Mora. However, as reported this Wednesday morning, discussions surrounding the conditions that would trigger a mandatory purchase option are currently stalling negotiations.

At this stage, the Dragons' stance is clear: either Roma meets the demands of the blue and white SAD, which seeks easily achievable mandatory purchase terms, or the deal may not proceed.

As A BOLA exclusively revealed on Tuesday, FC Porto rejected all business models proposed by Roma and countered with their own offer: a loan deal with a €10 million fee, plus a purchase option (€40 million, bonuses, and potentially a percentage of a future sale) that could become mandatory upon meeting specific targets.

These targets are currently the point of contention between the two clubs. Nevertheless, FC Porto and Roma are keeping lines of communication open, attempting to find a solution that satisfies both parties and could lead to Mora's move to the Italian capital, where he hopes to secure more consistent playing time.

Another intense day of negotiations is anticipated between the parties. It's clear that FC Porto will not budge from what they consider a fair price for the transfer of one of their most talented players: a total sum approaching €50 million (or more...). If a purchase option is involved, it must have a high probability of activation.
