Daily Trust gathered that Maikudi told the police that he went to the cemetery where the dead child was buried, exhumed the corpse and cut off the head in company with Damina.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed, said that the 25-year-old man, Maikudi, was arrested in Misau Local Government Area of the state and preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, who hails from Galambi village in Bauchi Local Government, conspired with his accomplice, one Damina, to commit the sacrilege.

According to DSP Mohammed, the suspects went to a graveyard in Galambi village to exhume the corpse of his male child to sell to a customer who is now at large.

He added that the suspect confessed that the child was his son, who died and was buried but that he later went back to the graveyard at night with his accomplice to exhume it.

The PPRO concluded by saying that the case was under investigation after which the suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.
