According to Deadline, Johnny Depp will star in the "Fantastic Beasts" sequel alongside Eddie Redmayne, who will return as Newt Scamander.

The first "Fantastic Beasts" film is a  fantasy drama film inspired by J. K. Rowling's book of same name, and a spin-off of the Harry Potter film series.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander alongside Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Jenn Murray, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, Gemma Chan and Faith Wood-Blagrove.

The film is produced by David Heyman, who produced all eight of "Harry Potter" films. Others on the producer list includes J.K Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram.
