Twin sisters aged 103 die weeks apart

Twin sisters aged 103 have died weeks apart from each other.

Florence Davies and Glenys Thomas died at their home care centre for elderly people in the United Kingdom. Glenys Thomas died on April 23, 2015. Her twin sister died on May 20, 2015.

Born in 1911, the sisters were survived by five children, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The twin grandmothers celebrated their 103rd birthday party at Abermill Care Home with their family.

"It was a huge privilege for all of us at Abermill to care for two such wonderful ladies. They both made such a positive impact on the life at the home and will be hugely missed by all of us here and by their family and friends" said Christine Tipper, Abermill Care Home's deputy manager.
