Osagie Alonge talks about intellectual property on the latest episode of “Facts Only”.
“Intellectual property refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce,” according to the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Earlier this year, Dammy Krane accused Wizkid of stealing his music. Rather than taking him to court, Krane took to Twitter, and in a series of angry tweets against the Starboy CEO claimed that Wizkid stole his "shit".
Shortly after this, Blackface accused 2face Idibia of stealing the song ‘Let somebody love you’ from him. The former member of Plantshun Boiz also alleged Wizkid stole ‘Ojuelegba’ from him.
Alonge analyzes the issues regarding intellectual property and the value of creativity in Nigerian music.
