FA Charges Arbeloa Over Post-Match Referee Comments

Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa has been charged by the Football Association (FA) following his post-match comments after the 1-1 draw with Manchester United. The Spaniard claimed that the officials would not "allow Manchester United to lose" after his side were denied all three points by a late Matheus Cunha equaliser.

Arbeloa was left frustrated by the officiating throughout the contest, particularly pointing to a foul given against Harry Maguire in the build-up to the leveller. The FA alleges that his remarks implied bias and questioned the integrity of the match officials. The Fulham boss has until October 1 to respond to the misconduct charge. Arbeloa later attempted to play down his comments, stating: "My English is not very good. Maybe I expressed myself poorly, and I prefer not to say anything about the referees because you never know."
