England to take on West Indies in three-Test tour in 2015

England will play a Test match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium next year for the first time since their game was abandoned in 2009.

The Test in Antigua five years ago was abandoned after just 10 balls had been bowled amid concerns over excess sand on the outfield.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) - in accordance with the West Indies Cricket Board - on Monday confirmed their itinerary for the 2015 tour, which will see Alastair Cook and his team play in two warm-up games, each staged over two days, before the three-Test series gets under way in Antigua on April 13.

The two sides will then move to the National Cricket Ground in Grenada on April 21, for what will be England's first five-day clash at that venue.

The tour will conclude at the Kensington Oval in Barbados between May 1 and 5, with England then returning home for two Tests against New Zealand, which precedes an Ashes series against Australia.

"We thank the West Indies Cricket Board for their assistance with the organisation of the tour and we know the venues will prove extremely popular with the thousands of cricket lovers who follow England to the Caribbean," said Paul Downton, managing director of the ECB.

"It will also be exciting for many to visit the new venue of Grenada for the first time."
