Gerrard hopeful to score more penalties in Brazil

Every football playing team has one factor that either works for or against them, for the England National team, it is penalties.

Brazil 2014 finalist England have lost out in their last 10 major tournaments through penalties, given the strike force the English team presents at each major tournament, they have not been able to overcome their penalty woes; that which has now become a problem for the England, however, coach Roy Hodgson is not letting that stop his Three Lions team should the occasion of a penalty shootout arise.

England lost to Germany in the semi finals of the 1990 World Cup, Portugal in the 2006 World Cup, later Italy at the Euro 2012 all through penalty shoot outs, Gerrard was involved in the last two defeats. The last time they won in a penalty game was in Euro 96 against Spain.

Gerrard said.

The Liverpool Captain scored in the Euros scored from the spot against Italy two years ado but that was not able to carry them through to the next stage.

"We are going to practise penalties a lot but it is a difficult situation to put into words and describe it. There is a lot of pressure.

Gerrard continued.

Gerrard believes that with the penalty practise, they can overcome the failures they have been recorded with in major tournaments and hopes they their woes end with a victory when the occasion arises.
