Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton is set to miss at least two weeks after being diagnosed with a mild left hamstring strain, head coach Rick Carlisle announced on Wednesday. On a positive note, the point guard appears to have avoided a more severe injury.

The All-Star guard's condition will be monitored on a week-to-week basis, with the team planning to re-evaluate his recovery in about two weeks. Carlisle added that it would be completely unrealistic to expect the floor general back in action before that timeline.

This latest setback comes right after Haliburton featured in each of Indiana's first four games of the new campaign. He has been in fine form, averaging 21.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per contest, including 22 points, six rebounds, and nine assists in Monday's defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The injury comes shortly after the Pacers leader returned from a grueling year-long absence caused by a ruptured right Achilles tendon. That devastating blow, sustained during Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, sidelined him for the entire 2025–26 regular season.

Haliburton made his return on opening night of the 2026–27 season, instantly reclaiming his role as the team's primary offensive orchestrator as Indiana started the year with a 2-2 record across their first four games.
