French President Emmanuel Macron will miss Tuesday's World Cup semi-final clash between France and Spain in Dallas due to France's national holiday, Bastille Day, on July 14th. However, he plans to travel to New York on July 19th should "Les Bleus" secure a spot in the final match.

This comes as no surprise and has become somewhat of a tradition. As President Emmanuel Macron himself hinted on Thursday during his visit to the Tour de France, the French national team players can count on his support if they reach the World Cup final on July 19th in New York.

Understandably, given the July 14th national holiday, Emmanuel Macron will not be in Dallas on Tuesday for the semi-final against Spain. In 2022, the head of state, a keen football fan, attended both the semi-final and final of the World Cup in Qatar.

After defeating Morocco 2-0 on Thursday, the French team is aiming for a third consecutive World Cup final appearance. To achieve this, they will need to overcome Spain, who narrowly beat Belgium 2-1 on Friday in Los Angeles.
