Actress circulates copies of Maya Angelou's book after Trump win
Actress, badass feminist and U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson tweeted that her first post-election step would be to circulate copies of Maya Angelou book
The Harry Potter star who was a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton as president of the United States, was devastated by the emergence of Donald Trump.
Sad at the turn of event she took to the Big Apple subway system to deposit copies of Maya Angelou's autobiography Mom & Me & Mom for commuters to find and read.
She tweeted: “I am going to fight even harder for all the things I believe in.”
Mom & Me & Mom happens to be the November/December book selection for her feminist book club, Our Shared Shelf, which she launched early in 2016.
Mom & Me & Mom, published in 2013, tells the story of Angelou’s relationship with her mother, Vivian Baxter. A beautiful examination of motherhood and daughterhood, as well as black families, it is described by Washington Post as filled with “Angelou’s trademark good humor and fierce optimism.”
Emma has also been a passionate UN Women Goodwill Ambassador since 2014.
She is also a staunch campaigner for the HeForShe campaign that aims to promote gender equality.
