In this exclusive interview with Pulse Nigeria, the filmmaker dished out on what Nollywood has taught her in her last 15 years as a producer.
"In the last 15 years, Nollywood has taught me that you just have to be innovative," she said. "Really, nothing is cast in stone in Nollywood."
"There's no formula to the success of any movie. You just don't know how it's going to go. You go by your feelings.
"Nollywood is very peculiar. I keep telling people, I think it's different from every other filmmaking nation.
"Some people say 'no, you have to do it this way, you have to do it that way,' and sometimes you follow all these rules, and then your movie flops.
"I think you go with your guts. Because most of the times I do that, and it has worked for me. I have recorded huge successes in most of the movies that I've made."
The filmmaker is happily married to her husband Akama Misodi.
