Christian LeBlanc, a tourist, while visiting an elephant sanctuary in Koh Phangan, Thailand, captured an adorable photo after a hungry elephant mistook his GoPro camera for food, The Mirror reports.
The camera happened to be in 'timelapse' mode (which automatically takes a photo every few seconds), so when the elephant stretched out his trunk, the camera snapped a selfie, or as LeBlanc called it, an "elphie."
LeBlanc says the elephant snagged the camera right out of his hand after he had run out of bananas. Luckily, the gentle giant gave the GoPro back after snapping a few pictures.
But this isn't the first animal to take a selfie. In March, a photo of an octopus, who also stole a GoPro, went viral.
Judging by the rest of his Instagram page, the 22-year-old LeBlanc is enjoying his travels through Asia, and is currently exploring the Philippines, where he snapped a selfie with a whale shark.
