Eight Tunisian national team footballers, who participated in the World Cup, have tested positive for a banned substance, the Daily Mail reports. According to the source, the substance in question is clenbuterol, a drug that widens airways and is on the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) prohibited list.

It is possible the substance entered their systems after consuming contaminated meat during the Tunisian team's training camp in Mexico. The players' clubs have already been informed of the situation. Tunisia was eliminated from the World Cup after the group stage. Following their opening match, a 5-1 loss to Sweden, the country's football federation sacked national team coach Sabri Lamouchi. The African squad was training in Mexico, where similar incidents have occurred before. It is precisely for this reason that the England camp announced they would bring their own chef and provisions to avoid any such issues. The "Three Lions" are set to face Mexico on Sunday in a Round of 16 clash at the Azteca Stadium.
