Egyptian Official on Salah's Potential MLS Move: "No One Will Remember Him, Just Like I Don't Remember Messi"
Ibrahim Hassan, technical director for the Egyptian national team, has cautioned Mohamed Salah against a move to Major League Soccer (MLS) after his Liverpool tenure, suggesting such a switch would lead to him fading from the spotlight and being quickly forgotten. Hassan believes Salah's best option is to remain in Europe, though he conceded that a transfer to Saudi Arabia would still be preferable to MLS. He even drew a peculiar comparison to Inter Miami's superstar Lionel Messi, admitting he personally doesn't think about the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner and has no interest in watching his matches in the USA.
“Personally, I would prefer him to stay in Europe. I’ve heard there are offers from PSG, Bayern, and Italian clubs. A move to MLS? He would be too far from the limelight there. No one would remember him anymore, just as I don't remember Messi. I don't even try to watch his games. If he doesn't receive suitable offers from Europe, a transfer to the Saudi League would also be a good option, especially with big names like Cristiano Ronaldo already there,” stated Ibrahim Hassan, who is the twin brother of Egypt's head coach, Hossam Hassan.
