The Afro-soul singer gained national acceptance throughout Ghana by becoming the first runner up in Charterhouse’s 'Stars of The Future' television show in which she finished first runner-up. Signing up a three-year deal with Charterhouse, she went on to release a collaborative album titled “Unveiled” with the winner Irene which was released in South Africa.

After ending her three-year deal, she went ahead recording songs and performing at local gigs, changing her stage name in the process from Miss Jane to Efya.

In 2011, Efya signed a recording deal with One Nation Entertainment.

The songstress released a mixtape in 2013 titled “T.I.N.T” comprising 13 tracks which was to serve as a precursor to her debut album which was initially slated for release in the third quarter of 2013, however the release time frame was postponed to February 2014.
