US President, Barack Obama has requested the sum of $6.18 billion from Congress for the purpose of combatting the Ebola Virus Disease in West Africa.

A spokesperson for the House Republican leader, John Boehner responded to the request saying that the appropriation it would be reviewed.

$4.5 billion of the money will reportedly be used for an immediate response while another $1.5 billion will be set aside as contingency money.
