The death toll of the current Ebola outbreak has risen to 5,420, the World Health Organization said on Wednesday, November 19.

15,145 cases of the disease have also now been reported in updated figures which reflect the situation up till November 16.

The WHO stated further that Sierra Leone accounted for 533 new cases and 63 deaths within the past week.

"Much of this was driven by intense transmission in the country's west and north," the WHO said.

Meanwhile, Sierra Leone has lost its 7 doctor to the outbreak which is the worst ever recorded.
