Sierra Leone has lost yet another health worker to the Ebola Virus Disease after a doctor died on Tuesday, November 18.
64-year-old Michael Kargbo has lost his life to Ebola and is the seventh doctor from the West African country to die from the disease.
A senior health worker at the Hastings Treatment Center near the capital, Freetown told Reuters:
"Dr Michael Kargbo died this afternoon."
Kargbo was working as a dermatologist at the Magburaka Government Hospital before his demise. It is not clear how he contracted Ebola as he was not actively involved in the treatment of patients.
Another Sierra Leonean doctor, Martin Salia died in the United States on November 17 after contracting the disease in his country.
Health officials have said that cases of Ebola are on the increase in Sierra Leone, which is one of the hardest hit countries in the current outbreak.
