Durant Drops Brooks to the Floor, Then Shows His Class: "I Didn't Want to Humiliate Him" /VIDEO/
The Rockets secured a crucial 119-105 victory over the Suns after trailing by as many as 21 points during the first quarter.
Kevin Durant led his team with 24 points, four rebounds, and three assists—but his performance wasn't the main topic of conversation after the game.
Instead, the spotlight was on his clash with Dillon Brooks during the second quarter.
The Phoenix player was constantly chirping, after which Durant sent him to the floor with a crossover.
The clip quickly went viral on social media.
After the game, Durant was asked if the trash talk provided any extra motivation:
No, not at all. I'm not going to give him that credit. Maybe other guys get fired up because he's talking to them, but he's not that important, especially not to me, to get me going. I wake up ready and eager to play, but I respect Dillon. I respect what he brings to the game. I think it gets him going more than it gets me going. It just so happened that I got the ball right after that and made a good move, but it wasn't out of spite for Dillon, nor did I want to humiliate him.
Brooks had a tough night on the court, finishing with just 10 points, three rebounds, and one assist against his former team. He shot 3-of-12 from the field (25.0%) and 1-of-7 from three-point range (14.3%). The Suns player did not address the media after the game.
