After stunning Real Madrid in their season opener, Dubai claimed another massive Spanish scalp in Round 2, defeating Barcelona 94-87.

Barcelona opened the contest with an early 8-2 run, looking sharp in the first quarter behind Joel Parra and Kevin Punter to edge ahead 25-23. However, the Catalans suffered a complete and unexplainable collapse in the second period.

In fact, outside of that disastrous second quarter, Barca matched—if not outplayed—Dubai for most of the night. But games are won across all four periods, and Dubai made theirs count.

Dubai dominated the second frame, outscoring Barcelona by a staggering 17 points (29-12). Spearheaded by suffocating defense and lethal offensive bursts from Mfiondu Kabengele, Mamadi Diakite, and Filip Petrušev, the UAE side built a commanding 15-point halftime cushion that proved insurmountable for the visitors.

Kevin Punter delivered a sensational performance, pouring in 25 points on efficient shooting (8/10 from two, 3/6 from three), but it wasn't enough to spark a comeback. Kabengele and Dwayne Bacon continued to punish Barca's defense in the second half, supported by McKinley Wright, Jaron Blossomgame, and Elie Okobo. With Dubai's perimeter stars carrying heavy minutes, Petrušev was limited to just six minutes, Tornike Shengelia to 10, and Thomas Walkup to 12.

Barcelona made a desperate push in the fourth quarter, taking the frame 25-18, but Dubai held their nerve down the stretch to secure another well-deserved EuroLeague victory.

Kabengele paced Dubai with a team-high 21 points, while Punter led all scorers with 25 points for Barcelona.
