This decision was made following consultations between the Lakers' medical staff and his personal doctors, aiming to accelerate his recovery and ensure his availability for the playoffs.

Under normal circumstances, the injury he sustained on Thursday would sideline him for approximately one month, with the playoffs set to begin on April 18th.

Doncic's absence is a significant blow for the Lakers, who are already without Austin Reaves. Reaves is also dealing with a severe hamstring strain and is expected to be out for 4 to 6 weeks.
