This video would change your perception about beauty
Shea Glover, a writer, actress, and student at a performing arts high school in Chicago decided to conduct an independent art project, which ultimately turned into a social experiment on the idea of beauty.
Stopping to ask her classmates if she could take a picture of them because they are “beautiful,” she got a variety of responses, ranging from flattered, to joyful, to downright offended and incredulous.
Through her YouTube channel, Shea clarified her true intentions behind the social experiment:
"I want to clarify that my intentions were not to get a reaction out of people. I was simply filming beauty and this is the result."
However, why are the majority of the subjects so taken aback after they were called beautiful?
The message behind this video is very strong, It shows that you don't have to struggle to meet the societal expectation or definition of beauty. You should start loving yourself more, no matter what others think.
Just know that no matter what everyone says about your head, your lips, your face, your hair, your beards, your body or even your headscarf.
