The reason for this unfortunate situation is serious injuries sustained by Vuk Danilović and Luka Živojinović, prompting an official statement from the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS) on Tuesday.

The Basketball Federation of Serbia informs the public that, following detailed medical examinations conducted in Italy, the injuries to our junior national team players Vuk Danilović and Luka Živojinović are such that both players will be unable to play for our national team for the remainder of the European Championship. Both players will undergo additional medical examinations upon their return to Belgrade. The Serbian national team will conclude the European Championship with ten players. KSS

The "Young Eagles" already know their opponent for that stage: the Greek national team. However, it appears Serbia will enter their first knockout match without Vuk Danilović, one of the team's key players.

Predrag Danilović's son landed awkwardly after contact with a Danish player and subsequently left the court with the assistance of the medical team.
