Alpha Diallo's professional basketball journey has been marked by an impressive ascent. He began his European career with Lavrio in Greece (2020-21) before moving to Monaco (2021-2026). With the French team, he reached the EuroLeague final and, this season, earned the Best Defender award in the domestic championship.
Now, the 29-year-old American guard has realized his lifelong dream, agreeing to continue his career in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets. This move came despite a significantly lower financial offer. For Diallo, however, the monetary aspect was secondary to the opportunity to embrace this new challenge.
Renowned Greek agent Panagiotis Kapazoglou, who has worked with Diallo, expressed his admiration for the player's monumental decision, highlighting his strong character and mindset: "A true diamond. The best character of a foreign athlete I have ever met. He left 10 million on the table to fulfill his dream and play in the NBA for 1/6 of the money he had on a signed contract. And because such athletes and such characters always succeed, he will ultimately earn ten times more than what he had this year."
