Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren was forced off the court due to a right thigh injury during the Pistons' road clash against the Miami Heat. Despite the setback, Detroit cruised to a commanding 128-111 victory on Friday night.
The injury occurred with just over six minutes remaining in the first half. After driving to the basket against Giannis Antetokounmpo, Duren suddenly felt sharp pain and grabbed his right thigh. The big man was then escorted to the locker room and ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
In his 10 minutes of action before exiting, the Pistons standout registered four points on 2-of-4 shooting from the field, six rebounds, and three assists. Paul Reed stepped up to fill his spot in the paint following the interval.
John Collins led the offense for the victors with 23 points, while Reed made an impressive impact off the bench with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds.
On the back of this strong performance, Detroit secured their second consecutive victory to start the new season.
