The man identified simply as Fabian was apprehended by members of the Otukpo vigilante on Friday, November 11, Daily Post reports.
Fabian admitted to the crime while pleading for forgiveness, and added that he only committed the crime in order to feed his family.
He claimed that his family had had nothing to eat in the last two days as a result of his joblessness.

Fabian said he has been unable to secure a job due to the current economic crisis in the nation.
The vigilante group later released him after his family members showed up and resolved the case.
