Deportivo La Coruña Shows Character Against Getafe, Remains Unbeaten in La Liga
Getafe and Deportivo La Coruña played out a 1-1 draw in a La Liga matchday five fixture. Ramón Terrats (66') put the hosts ahead in the second half, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (78') once again found the net for the visitors, securing a point for his side. The Gabonese striker continues his excellent form, now boasting five goals in five league appearances. Getafe started more aggressively, attempting to impose their physical style, but Deportivo gradually leveled the playing field and began to find attacking spaces.
In the first half, both teams adopted a cautious approach. Getafe held a slight advantage in possession and tried to create chances through direct attacks. However, Deportivo remained dangerous on their quick breaks, and Aubameyang's presence constantly troubled the home defense. Despite several promising situations at both ends, the first half ended goalless.
After the break, Getafe intensified their pressure and broke the deadlock in the 66th minute. Ramón Terrats was in the right place at the right time, giving the hosts the lead, which boosted their confidence. Deportivo, however, did not abandon their attacking intent and continued to seek opportunities. Their efforts were rewarded in the 78th minute when Aubameyang scored the equalizer.
In the closing minutes, both teams pushed for a winner, but no further goals were scored. As a result, Deportivo maintained their unbeaten start to the season, accumulating nine points after five rounds, while Getafe remains on five points. The Madrid side will travel to Real Betis on September 17, while Deportivo will host Sevilla on September 16.
