Defenders Reece James and Jarell Quansah were once again absent from the England national team's recovery training session following their knockout stage victory against DR Congo at the World Cup. Both players missed the match in Atlanta due to injuries. James is dealing with a hamstring issue, while Quansah, who was forced off against Panama, suffered an ankle sprain.

Their continued absence puts their participation in Sunday's Round of 16 clash against Mexico in doubt. A group of 13 players took part in the recovery session, joined by late substitutes from the DR Congo match, Eberechi Eze and John Stones. The entire squad is scheduled for another training session on Friday before heading directly to Mexico City.
