An early love for writing
I read a lot and i have always loved to write since I was young. I realised that since I loved telling stories, I could actually write on all the things happening around me. Initially it started as an hobby but later on i started writing blogs based on my imaginations, till I was inspired to release my first book.
Writers/ authors that inspire her writings
I am inspired by different authors including Maya Angelou, Chinua Achebe, Brenda Barret, Dayo Benson, Abimbola Dare, Kim Brooks. Most especially I am inspired by the almighty God! He is my inspiration, I let him guide me on what to write and what message he wants me to share out there. I am using my writing gift to share the gospel with the world.
An insight into her book and its main character
Impunity is a book based on a personal journey of repentance and salvation. The main character is Vivian! A wayward girl who had a lot of issues with forgiveness but was able to overcome this spirit through salvation. She was a special character because her way of life was beyond reckless, everyone had lost faith or hope that she was going to change and she was out to revenge at all cost but God took control.
Cover of her book
Since the cover of a book plays a major role in the buying process, i had to make sure that my cover is fascinating and very attractive.
My cover was inspired by the main character of the book. I wanted to depict someone who was in pain and was ready to revenge at all cost hence the silhouette face with the blood tear drops.
Ebooks or Physical books?
I prefer ebooks because it's an easier reading platform for me compared to paper back but I can also read paper back I tend to just be a bit slower with them.
On Self-publishing
The main advantage of self-publishing for me is the ease of publishing. It's really hard to find publishers these days and it could be frustrating so I think self publishing is the way to go. The down side to self-publishing is sales and publicity, using well known publishing houses would allow people to discover your books.
How she get through writer's block
The best way to get through this stage is to leave it, try and read it from a readers point of view and try to think of what you will like to see happen next as a reader. Sometimes writer's block exist so that you can give yourself a break to think more creatively.
Advice for aspiring writers
Never give up on your dreams! Keep going, Reflect on what you intend to share with the world from your own imagination. Most importantly read, write, read write, read write in that order.
