Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) President Rafael Lausán intends to keep Luis de la Fuente as the national team coach until the 2030 World Cup. Negotiations for a new agreement are expected to commence between both parties in the near future.
“It's safe to say that De la Fuente will be with us for a long time. I was personally involved in his previous contract renewal. At that time, I had the honor of finalizing an important, necessary, and fair agreement. Now, our task is to improve his terms, if possible, and extend our collaboration,” Lausán stated.
“I am proud of how Luis helped us reach an agreement back then. A historic event awaits us in 2030, and we would like Luis to be a part of it,” the federation head added.
Luis de la Fuente led "La Roja" to the 2026 World Cup title. Under his guidance, the team also became European champions and won the Nations League.
