Davolee talked about how he used to hustle water and end up having nothing to show for it. The rapper expressed his gratitude to God for the opportunity to showcase his talent.
Speaking with Notjustok TV, the rapper also mentioned getting zero support from family towards pursuing a career in music because they felt it was a worldly venture, but Davolee thought differently, saying everybody cannot be a doctor or be any of those more popular career paths typical parents want for their children.
“If all of us are doctor, who will we treat,” he remarked.
He narrates how his freestyles on Instagram and a cypher session on a radio station got Olamide hooked and caused the YBNL leader to go for him.
On what makes him unique from every other rapper in the game right now, Davolee said it was the fact that he tells his personal true life stories using rap.
“I have not seen anyone telling a story with rap, people tell stories but they just start with one particular thing and end it”, he said, citing his ‘Festival bar’ song as being inspired by true events of his life.
He describes what makes him unique from others is how he expresses his true life experiences with indigenous rap.
