Singer postpones 'Baddest' album release, to drop September

The official release date for the much-anticipated album ‘Baddest’ from Davido will now be in September 2015.

The renowned award-winning Afro-beats superstar has an album in the works, and has already failed to unveil it twice after announcing dates. The album was earlier scheduled to be released on June 8, 2015 but it was postponed till August 10, 2015 and once again it’s been moved.

Now new update from a representative of Davido’s record label, HKN, has been received. In an email sent to Pulse from his media representatives, the album will be released in September.

“We are aware that many may have been expecting the album at an earlier date, though we were set to release the album this month, the date has been moved. We are currently placing the finishing touches on the album and we have some exciting news coming up that will greatly benefit the album project.” The email read.

Another reason proffered by Davido’s camp has been the attention to detail and class, with a view to producing a world-class body of work. The singer intends to put his best foot forward on ‘Baddest’.

“Davido fans have been so loyal and consistent throughout Davido’s career that he sincerely wants to deliver the best body of work so as to express his gratitude. We have been working non-stop to deliver an album of world-class standards; for this reason it is paramount to release a well-executed album, to the best of our ability.” The email further said.

‘Baddest’, Davido’s sophomore album contains a number of stars guesting on it, including embattled US rapper, Meek Mill and R&B singer Trey Songz.
