These stunning 3D sculptures are made from paper
Papuli, who's been making paper sculptures since 1995, revealed in an interview with Huffington Post that he'd been working toward the same effect for a long time trying different materials like stone, wood and plaster.
He added that the materials got thinner till he achieved his desired effect.
Papuli who is from the south of Italy - Salento, a little region of Puglia admitted that he draws inspiration from his home and the way the sunlight and shadows fall starkly in the fields.
According to Papuli, the saturated sunlight and vivid landscapes of his home provide artistic fuel.
Papuli has said he sees paper as a limitless medium which offers "numberless sensorial, visual and tactile suggestions engendered by its new structure."
