Dani Olmo is set to be sidelined for around a month after suffering an injury in Barcelona's Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, according to Spanish outlet Sport. The report indicates that the attacking midfielder has sustained a torn adductor muscle.
The Spain international picked up the injury around the 25th minute after being caught by Vitinha and landing awkwardly. Olmo was visibly in severe pain and received immediate attention from Barca's medical staff. Despite attempting to carry on, he was ultimately unable to continue and had to be replaced by Fermín López.
Concern among the Blaugrana was apparent right from the moment of the incident, with the club making no secret of their anxiety over the manner in which Olmo hobbled off the pitch.
Olmo is now certain to miss Sunday's El Clásico against Real Madrid, along with upcoming fixtures against Alavés (Oct 31), Aston Villa (Nov 3), and Atlético Madrid (Nov 8). The hope is that the former RB Leipzig playmaker will be fit to return for the La Liga encounter against Villarreal on November 22.
