The captain of Vincenzo Montella's national team had nothing but praise for Chivu: "Our coach changed at the beginning of the season. I believe he had a positive impact on the team. He was already at the club, coaching Inter's youth players, so we knew him.

He's a very approachable, very warm person, and the team accepted him immediately. He's very open, and that was a positive thing. He also has the advantage of giving everyone a chance, even the young players.

The previous coach had a different philosophy, more focused on experience. Everyone has their own way of seeing things, but now we're doing well, thank God," commented Hakan Calhanoglu.

Calhanoglu: "Having a Turkish passport can be a disadvantage in Europe, because our value isn't always recognized"

The Turkish midfielder reflected on his transfer from AC Milan to Inter: "It wasn't easy to establish myself at first. I first had to prove my worth. Even Inter fans had their doubts. I remember my first game: a goal and an assist, a beautiful goal.

I was excited; it was an important moment in my career. I think I handled the situation well. The fact that I arrived on a free transfer perhaps helped me mentally.

Sometimes, having a Turkish passport can be a disadvantage in Europe, because our value isn't always recognized. But today, players like Kenan (editor's note - Yildiz) or Arda (editor's note - Guler) are receiving due recognition for their performances, and that is very important.

I believe I also contributed to this change. When I chose the Turkish national team, I thought it could be an example for other young players who grew up abroad. And indeed, that's exactly what happened: many chose Turkey, even some who later regretted not doing so.”

"I have more control over the game. I help both offensively and defensively, I like to make tackles. My style has changed"

Hakan Calhanoglu also revealed how he transformed after moving to Inter: "When I arrived here, I was playing in a different position. With Inzaghi, I adapted to a deeper midfield role. Initially, it was Brozovic, then, after his departure, the coach offered me the position.

I accepted, I position myself a bit further from the goal, but I have more control over the game. I help both offensively and defensively, and I also enjoy making tackles. My style has changed.

Inter fans came up with a chant for me. The first time, I was surprised. I'm not Italian, but they showed me so much affection. It means I've done something good.

They accepted me, and the relationship of respect and love grew. In Italy, supporters are very important, and I feel that I am too. Thank God, the work I do is being rewarded,” concluded the midfielder.
